Galvanic isolation for a cleaner signal path

At the heart of the SI-1 is an active optical-electrical isolation architecture. The incoming Ethernet signal is first converted to an optical signal and then back to electrical before reaching your streamer. This completely disconnects the electrical connection between the network and the audio system.

The result is a quieter digital environment in which interference, ground loops and high-frequency noise no longer have a chance. This audibly translates into more peace, a cleaner background and better focus in the sound image.

Dual channel optical transmission

Unlike many network isolation solutions, the SI-1 uses two separate optical channels for data transfer: one for upstream and one for downstream. These separated transmission paths prevent signal crosstalk and maintain the integrity of the data stream.

In addition, two femtosecond clocks ensure extremely accurate timing of data transmission, further minimizing jitter and transmission errors.

Linear power supply and premium build quality

To ensure signal integrity, the SI-1 has an internal linear power supply with a toroidal transformer and multiple LDO regulators. These provide a stable, low-noise power supply base for the optical modules and clock circuits.

The CNC-machined aluminum housing fits seamlessly with Matrix Audio's industrial design philosophy while providing effective shielding against external interference.
